FAQ

• How does buying online work?

  This year Cous Cous Fest relies on TicketSMS: everything is purchased in advance through the official Fest app and, new for this edition, with no service fees at all.

  On your first purchase the app automatically creates your digital wallet, where both the Cous Cous Houses menus and the Bia Theatre event tickets are collected. To use them, simply show the wallet QR code at the serving point or to the Bia Theatre staff.

  For Bia Theatre events we recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the start time: each ticket is valid only for the event selected at the time of purchase.

• What is the Cous Cous Fest wallet?

  The wallet holds everything you have purchased. It does not work as a cash top-up to be spent later: you buy the menus and tickets directly, and they stay in your wallet until you use them.

  Cous Cous Houses menus, single extras and Bia Theatre tickets all come together in the same wallet.

• Which menus can I buy?

  The Standard Menu costs € 12.00 and includes a couscous dish of your choice, a glass of wine or water and a coffee or bitter.

  There are then three € 15.00 menus, identical to the Standard Menu but with one extra included: one with Spritz, one with Corona and one with the new MouScùs ice cream dessert.

  If you prefer, you can also add single extras to your wallet without buying a whole menu: Spritz € 6.00 and MouScùs ice cream dessert € 5.00.

  App launch promo: the first 1,000 Combo menus bought through the app cost € 12.00 instead of € 15.00, while stocks last.

• What is the card I collect at the ticket office?

  If you buy at a Fest ticket office, our staff loads your purchase onto a physical card with a QR code. It is the equivalent of the digital wallet: you show it at the serving points to collect your menus and at the Bia Theatre entrances to access the events.

  The card can be topped up at any time from the app, adding more menus, extras or tickets without going back to the ticket office.

• Can I manage more than one wallet in the same app?

  Yes. The first wallet, the digital one, is created automatically on your first in-app purchase. You can then add others manually by scanning the QR code of a physical card: from that moment you can see it and top it up straight from the app.

  It is handy if you are handling purchases for several people, for example for your family or a group of friends.

• Where can I taste cous cous?

  Every day from 12 noon to midnight you can taste cous cous recipes at the Cous Cous Houses.

• Can I find gluten-free options?

  Yes, a gluten-free option is available at the Cous Cous from the World House.

• How do free tickets work?

  Some Bia Theatre events offer a free ticket: you collect it at the Piazza Santuario ticket office on the same day as the event you wish to attend, and it is loaded onto your wallet like any other ticket. Each person can collect a maximum of 2.

• Can I attend the cous cous championship competitions?

  The Italian Championship and the Cous Cous World Championship competitions are held at the Bia Theatre in Piazza Santuario. You can watch from the square and follow the proceedings on the big screen. To taste the competing dishes and vote as a popular juror you can buy a ticket, whose price varies according to the stage of the competition (see the table above). Seating is limited.

• How do the competitions take place?

  The competing chefs cook entirely live on the Bia Theatre stage, in a timed challenge, under the scrutiny of the technical jury. A pressure test that pushes the contestants to their limits. The audience can taste the competing dishes and vote on the chefs’ charm and flair, awarding a dedicated prize.

• Where can I attend concerts and performances?

  You can watch the concerts, the talk and music sessions and the free Live show performances on the big Cous Cous Fest stage, from the beach in front of it. Comfortable footwear and a beach towel are recommended.

• Where can I stay?

  San Vito Lo Capo is a tourist town with plenty of accommodation: hotels, bed & breakfasts, room rentals and campsites. The municipality’s tourism portal, ilovesanvitolocapo.it, lists information and contacts. During the days of the Fest it may be hard to find a room, so booking well in advance is recommended.

• How do I get to San Vito Lo Capo?

  San Vito Lo Capo can be reached by air from the airports of Trapani and Palermo, and then by car, transfer or regular bus route.

  Palermo Falcone e Borsellino Airport is 100 km from San Vito Lo Capo, just over 1 hour by car. Taking the E90 motorway (toll-free) towards Trapani, you reach the junction for Castellammare del Golfo. From there, via State Road 187 and then Provincial Road 16, it takes about 20-25 minutes to reach San Vito Lo Capo.

  Trapani Vincenzo Florio Airport is 70 km from San Vito Lo Capo, about 1 hour by car. From the airport, take the motorway link towards Trapani, then follow the signs to Valderice along Provincial Road 187, which after about 15 km rejoins the SP16 to San Vito Lo Capo. If you are arriving by sea, the Trapani-Erice seafront leads directly to San Vito via Provincial Roads 20 and 18.
